Barti Ddu Seaweed Spiced Rum has made it through to the delicious. Magazine Produce Award national final.
The new company named Barti Rum, based in Pembroke Dock, has been rapidly growing in popularity since its quiet launch in July of last year.
The rum is heavily spiced with creamy vanilla, cinnamon, clove, subtle orange and not forgetting the most important ingredient, hand foraged laver seaweed from the local coastline.
The seaweed is used to add another dynamic to the flavour profile and balance the sweeter notes with its savoury undertones.
Fran Barnikel representative of Barti Rum was thrilled to hear about getting into the final, she said: “We are so pleased! The buzz around Welsh food and drink is huge right now so it really is an honour to get this far in the Produce Awards.”
Karen Barnes, delicious. editor said: “The delicious. Produce Awards were conceived to honour and champion the very best producers all around the UK.
“We’re delighted to be putting these top quality products through to our national finals, which will be judged in London in October this year.
“The standard has been higher than ever for our 2018 awards, so it’s a huge achievement for every shortlistee.”
