A MAN who went missing earlier this week has now been found safe and well.

Police issued an appeal for Rory Stonhold, 29, from Goodwick, after he went missing on Thursday, October 4.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed on social media  yesterday Sunday, October 7 that Mr Stonhold had been found safe and thank the public for their help with the appeal.

Fishguard RNLI's all-weather lifeboat launched on Saturday, October 6, to conduct a coastline search between Strumble Head and Dinas Head after Mr Stonhold was reported missing.

A spokesman for the RNLI said: "The lifeboat with a full volunteer crew launched shortly after 2pm into very rough seas and a strong north east wind and headed for Strumble Head.

"The lifeboat was later joined by a UK SAR helicopter from St.Athan to enhance the search and after the coastline had been thoroughly checked without result both the lifeboat and helicopter were stood down with the lifeboat returning to base at 4.30pm.

"The following morning, Sunday, October 7, the inshore lifeboat with three crew launched at 9.20am after being tasked to recover clothing reported as being seen on the coastline rocks at Pen Anglas and believed to belong to the person who had been reported as missing but who had been found alive the previous evening.

"After a thorough search of the area in much calmer conditions the lifeboat returned to base at 9.40am after nothing was found."
