A MAN has been injured at Newgale beach today (Wednesday).

A call came into Coastguards at 11.48am, and teams from Broad Haven and Little Haven rushed to the scene, along with Little Haven RNLI, ambulance, police and fire.

Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Dyfed-Powys Police received a report concerning the welfare of a man at Newgale beach shortly before 12pm today (October 10, 2018). No further information is available at this time.”

A Wales Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called today at approximately 11.50am to an incident on Newgale beach, Pembrokeshire.

"We responded with one first responder, one rapid response vehicle, one emergency ambulance and an air ambulance."

Wales Air Ambulance also confirmed they had attended.

"I can confirm that Wales Air Ambulance attended an incident near Newgale beach earlier today. Unfortunately, we are unable to give further details," said a spokesperson.

Upon arrival a man, thought to either be a kite or windsurfer, was recovered from the water and handed over to paramedics.

Information on his condition is not yet available.

One witness said: "We went past in the car, the coastguard was out in a boat, a helicopter on beach, and lots of official cars."
