Possession of a pot of Class B drugs proved costly for a Freystrop man.
Malcolm Mathias pleaded guilty to cannabis possession when he appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, October 2.
Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, prosecuting, said police spoke to Mathias, 33, while in an area of Haverfordwest for an unrelated matter on May 27.
“He was standing at the side of the road with his fist clenched, asked what he had in his hand he said ‘pot’.”
Mathias handed over a small pot containing 4.44 grams of cannabis, and Mark Layton, defending, stated that the amount was consistent with personal use.
Mathias was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 surcharge.
A destruction order was made for the seized drugs.
