A BELOVED west Wales symphony orchestra will return to Haverfordwest for its annual autumn concert this October.

Symphonica Tywi will bring favourites from the world of opera and ballet to town when it visits St Mary’s Church, Haverfordwest on Saturday, October 20.

Under the batton of conductor Mike Cottam, the orchestra will play operatic arias and orchestral ballet music from Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Delibes among others.

The orchestra will be joined by two local singers this year: Rachel Hickman and Madeline Wears.

Mike Cottam is the former musical director of Haverfordwest Operatic Society before he left to be vicar of Llangadog in Carmarthenshire after ordination in 1993.

Returning last year to live in St. Ishmaels, he has resumed his connection with the society.

Tickets are £12 (£10 Concessions) with children under 14 admitted free.

They can be booked in advance by ringing 07876 727906 or 01646 636564 or by emailing mikecottam@hotmail.com
