IT’S not often you see Saints legends names such as Le Tissier, Channon and Bates all in one place.

Now, Saints fans can enjoy the club’s history from its formation in 1885, right up to the current day, and it’s all on one sheet of A2 paper.

Cardiff City fan Mike Cochrane takes 6 weeks at a time to produce a tube map for football clubs up and down the country, and his Saints piece doesn’t lack big names.

Laurie McMenemy, Bobby Stokes and Francis Benali are joined by a whole host of names. The most notable of which are from the 1976 FA Cup triumph including Nick Holmes, Peter Osgood and Jim Steele.

Cochrane said: “I wanted to include a lot about the FA Cup for extra detail. I’m 52 so that’s one of the first FA Cups I can remember. I obviously supported Southampton as they were the underdog and it’s not a result you expect.”

There is also more recent players and managers on 2000s line, with Mark Hughes, Rickie Lambert and Kelvin Davis making the cut.

“I live near Manchester and do contract work, so between contracts I decided to do a map of the small village where I live. It’s a very small village so it was easier to draw up than others I have done.” The 52-year-old added.

“I started with the usual suspects. Your Manchester United’s, your Chelsea’s before I started taking requests after deciding I wanted to branch out and do more unique clubs.

“I did Cardiff for myself at first. I knew the more recent history, but I didn’t know a thing about 20s, 30s and 40s, so that was nice.”

The Daily Echo has the very first Saints print, although he has made maps for 34 other teams as well as English and Welsh rugby sides. The most popular teams have been Notts County, Sheffield Wednesday and Wolverhampton Wanderers, each selling over 200 prints each.

You can find the prints at www.tubeart.co.uk with the Saints prints costing £24 for an A3 print, and £34 for an A2. You can get them professionally framed and mounted for £85 and £95 respectively.
