A brother and sister appeared in the dock together after they abused a man outside a local supermarket.

Wayne Stephen Davies, aged 30, of Water Street, Pembroke Dock, and Kahley Davies, aged 25, of Pembroke, appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, October 16.

They both pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive, insulting words or behaviour intending to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Haverfordwest on July 26.

Abul Hussain, prosecuting, said the complainant Anthony Nolan, who was known to the Davies siblings, crossed paths with them outside Tesco.

There was a verbal altercation when Wayne Davies became abusive to Mr Nolan, and Kahley Davies became involved and called him a name.

Mr Hussain said: “Wayne Davies said ‘I’m going to slice you’, he moved towards him, but was stopped by a security guard who got him in a bear-hug.”

Jonathan Webb, defending, said: “It’s fair to say there is a history between the Davieses and Mr Nolan. There has been something in the past which led to Kahley and Wayne Davies having a go at Mr Nolan.”

He added that Mr Nolan ‘had a go back’ before security staff stepped in to separate the group.

“It was a minor public order matter committed by the Davies siblings on the day in question. It was two people mouthing-off to another for want of a better expression.”

Magistrates fined the defendants £100 each and ordered both to pay £85 court costs and a £30 surcharge.

The chairman of the bench said: “Looking at both your records, neither of them are anything to be proud of. Do you want to be like this for the rest of your lives? Only you can change it.”
