A PEMBROKESHIRE mum, whose daughter was murdered two years ago in Haverfordwest, raised awareness of domestic violence through a group walk through the town on Thursday, October 18.

Western Telegraph:

Natasha Bradbury lay dying for hours in 2016 before her on-off boyfriend Luke George Jones dialled 999 and asked for an ambulance.

Jones, of Haven Drive, Milford Haven, murdered Miss Bradbury in her High Street home in the early hours of February 22, 2016.

He had inflicted horrendous injuries on the 27-year-old, who sustained fatal liver, heart and brain damage.

A jury returned a unanimous guilty verdict, and Jones was sentenced to a minimum of 17 years in prison.

Mum Tracey Bradbury and family members, as part of domestic violence awareness month, were joined by some 30 people in a purple-themed candle-lit walk from County Hall up High Street.

Domestic Violence Awareness month is associated with the colour purple.

Poignantly, the walk ended at the top of High Street, the site of Natasha’s home, and her death, where balloons were released to the sky.

Western Telegraph:

Tracey said: “I lost my daughter Natasha in 2016 through domestic violence; when we lost her, we were absolutely devastated.

“It was great to see everyone in purple in High Street. Thanks to Helen from Hafan, and everyone who did purple windows; thanks to the police and VC Gallery for putting on the refreshments and for a beautiful painting.

“We felt nervous, but at the end of it as long as we can help one person it would be great.

“People need to speak out, not hold it in.”

For Tracey, the walk, and particularly its end, brought back painful memories.

Western Telegraph:

“It was hard because I’ve not been in Haverfordwest since I emptied the flat; when we saw the flat we broke down.”
