Emergency services are searching for a woman in the Neyland Promenade area.
The police have stayed in the area, but the coastguard and the ambulance services have now left the scene.
A Coastguard spokesman confirmed they were searching for 'a high-risk female.'

It is now understood that a woman in the water near Neyland has been picked up by police boat.
