Drunkenly damaging a pallet of bread has cost a Pembroke teen £155.78.
Jack Oliver Boyle, of Main Street, pleaded guilty to criminal damage when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, October 16.
The court heard that Boyle, 18, damaged a £50.78 pallet of bread which had been delivered to Spar, St Clears in the early hours of August 4.
Prosecutor Abul Hussain said: “The defendant was drunk and thought that it would be funny to damage the pallet of bread.”
The bench heard that Boyle had no previous convictions, and was due to start a new job that afternoon after attending court.
Rebecca Carter, defending, said: “He is extremely remorseful for his actions and does not maintain the view that it was funny.
“It was out of character and he says the only reason he did it was because he was intoxicated.”
Magistrates imposed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered Boyle to pay £50.78 compensation to the shop, plus £105 in costs and a surcharge.
