CAMROSE Vintage Working Day has fundraised nearly £10,000 for 13 charities across Pembrokeshire this year.

At the vintage working day committee’s presentation evening on Saturday, October 20, 13 good causes from across the county were given £750 each, totalling £9,750 raised on the gate at this year’s working day.

Camrose Vintage Working Day chairman, Darren Rogers, welcomed the audience to the 33rd presentation evening, and praised the hard work of all members of the local community who pitch in to make the event, on August 25, run smoothly.

“All our supporters show what community spirit they have and do what needs to be done. Without them we can plan whatever we want to, but without these people we wouldn’t have a show,” said Mr Rogers.

Brian Harries, president of the Pembrokeshire County Show this year, presented the £750 cheques to each of the charities, as well as a small plaque on behalf of the vintage working day committee.

“I am always completely blown away by what a special community you are here in Camrose,” he said.

Mr Harries also praised the work of the charities receiving aid on the evening, saying it was heartening to hear about the different kinds of support they provided.

“You are probably never very far from someone doing great work in Pembrokeshire. It reminds us how wonderful a locality it is.”

The charities which received £750 donations from Camrose Vintage Working Day this year were:

- The RNLI

- Withybush Hospital Stroke Rehabilitation Unit

- Cruse Bereavement Care
