PEMBROKESHIRE for Europe supporters recently joined the 700,000-strong People's March in London.

The 24 supporters from the county travelled by coach to join the October 20 march calling for the British public to have a People's Vote on the terms of leaving the European Union with the option of remaining within the EU.

Recently-formed Pembrokeshire for Europe is opposed to Brexit and wants the public to have a vote on the Brexit deal, with the option for the UK to remain as a member of the EU. It is non-party political.

Alistair Cameron from Pembrokeshire for Europe said: “With its reliance on farming, tourism and trade with the EU, as well as our two ferry links with Ireland, it is in Pembrokeshire's interests to remain within the EU. We have also benefited from a lot of EU funding to improve our road links to the rest of the UK.

“We hope our two county MPs will put Pembrokeshire's interests first and vote for a People's Vote with the option of remaining within the EU when this comes before Parliament.”

Last Saturday, October 27, Pembrokeshire for Europe held a street stall in Narberth, askingthe public questions about how Brexit will affect the economy, Wales and the UK's standing in the World.

The stall also asked whether there should be a People's Vote on the final deal.

The result showed a lot of deep concern over Brexit and support for a People's Vote.

Alistair Cameron said: “We know that this survey is not scientific, but it does show a lot of people who visited the stall support a People's Vote on the final deal.”
