DRIVING the day after smoking cannabis cost a Stepaside man £235.
Elliot James Hoad, of Pleasant Valley, pleaded guilty to driving while over the controlled drug limit when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on October 30.
Sian Vaughan, prosecuting, told the court that Hoad’s Mini was stopped by police due to a defective light and the manner of driving at Carmarthen Road, Kilgetty at 12.50am on July 17.
Hoad, 22, told officers he had smoked cannabis the previous day when they noticed the smell of the Class B drug coming from his car.
Mark Layton, defending, said Hoad was previously of clean character, and his work opportunities could be affected by the loss of his licence as he was a welder and fabricator.
Magistrates banned Hoad from driving for 12 months and fined him £120.
He was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
