The funeral took place at St Mary’s Church, Pembroke Dock on Friday August 24 of Mrs Anne Bernadette Simpson of Pembroke Ferry, Pembroke Dock, who died with her husband Fred by her side on Friday August 17.

Mrs Anne Simpson leaves her loving husband, Mr Frederick Simpson; only daughter Julie; son-in-law Peter and grandchildren, Theo and Milly, who she adored dearly.

The bearers were Anne’s son-in-law Peter, grandson Theo and family friends Phil and Ashley.

Anne’s only granddaughter Milly played a musical tribute and her son-in-law Peter read the family tribute written by her daughter Julie.

A poem was read by Tom Belshaw Anne’s brother-in -law.

Mrs Simpson dedicated much of her life to her husband Fred and they celebrated their Ruby wedding anniversary in Jersey where they had honeymooned, and more recently their golden wedding anniversary with family and friends.

Anne will be dearly missed by all.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by John Roberts & Son, 51, Bush Street, Pembroke Dock.

Haverfordwest

Mrs Margaret Doreen Rees of Baring Gould Way, Haverfordwest, passed away at Withybush Hospital on September 5.

She was 84.

Originally from Llandysul, Cardiganshire she trained as a SRN at the County War Memorial Hospital, Haverfordwest. She went on to be a nurse with dedication in Kensington Hospital, St Brides, transferring to Withybush General Hospital when it was built.

After retiring from nursing she and her husband Derek established the well respected ‘Heirloom Antiques’ business in Haverfordwest market when it first opened.

Her main interests were antiques, metal detecting, antique bottles, trout fishing, knitting and gardening.

In recent years she enjoyed card-making and paper craft.

She gave total love and dedication to her family.

She was predeceased by her husband Francis Derek Walter Rees in 2003.

The family left to mourn and the principal mourners are Tony Rees (son); Sandra and Stephen Evans (daughter and son-in-law); Gareth, Lisa, Melanie, Ben and Lee (grandchildren); Kiara and Tegan (great grandchildren); John and Mary Rees (brother-in-law and wife); Pauline Jones (sister-in-law); Peter Rees (brother-in-law) plus her many nephews, nieces and friends.

The funeral service at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, in Narberth on September 27.

It was officiated by Rev Huw George.

The bearers were Tony Rees (son); Stephen Evans (son-in-law); Gareth Rees (grandson); Ben William (grandson); Lee Evans (grandson); Dean Rees (granddaughters husband) and Paul Hughes (granddaughters partner).
