A HAVERFORDWEST man has won a trophy at the Dyfed Chess Championship.
Ray Greenwood of Haverfordwest, a member of Steynton Chess Club, took away the Under 1600 Grading Prize.
In the Dyfed Chess Championship last weekend held in Tan-y-groes on October 27 and 28, Aberystwyth Chess Club’s leading player, Rudy van Kemenade of Aberhosan, came out on top, finishing equal first with Dave Buttell of Carmarthen.
Steynton Chess Club and Cardigan Chess Club both meet each Thursday evening, respectively at Kensington Court, Steynton and at the Bowls Club in Cardigan.
