PUPILS from Golden Grove School gathered at the Pembroke War Memorial on Remembrance Sunday, joining

members of the community they marked the 100 years since the end of the First World War.

Pupils carried photographs of fallen soldiers and whilst placing them at the memorial they read the names of the soldiers.

Children in Need Day was a riot of spots, bears and costumes as the pupils and staff dressed up to join in the fundraising efforts.

Pupils had also been busy making biscuits, loom band bracelets and badges which were sold in a pop-up shop.

The brisk trade ensured that donations tin was well used.

Pupils from Class 3RA spent and enjoyable day at Castell Henllys.

Going back in time they were taken as “workers” for the residents of the round houses.

They quickly got to grips with cooking bread, making fences and learning about the lives of the residents.

They had they faces painted to show allegiance to their forefathers.

Head Teacher Andy Williams said: “Pupils at the school have been involved in a wide range of enriching activities.

“The whole school was involved with the Children in Need activities and we have been able to make a donation of £800.00 to the charity.

“Thanks to everyone who took part or donated.”
