FATHER Christmas' elves have been hard at work to prepare his grotto in Prendergast for a visit.

Santa will be visiting Prendergast Church Hall on Saturday, December 15 to hand out presents and hear the Christmas wishes of local children.

Father Christmas is being welcomed to Prendergast with a fresh set of robes.

There will be three sessions throughout the day.

The first session at 10.30am is aimed to provide a quiet session for those children with ASD or additional needs who find a noisy/ busy environment difficult.

There will be help at the church hall to aid mobility and also sign along to aid communication.

The two other times are 12.30pm and 2.30pm.

Anyone is welcome to drop into the winter wonderland as Reverend Marianne will be serving refreshments helped by some others in our community.

The "big man" has already been spotted in the area choosing a Christmas tree for the grotto.

Tickets are £3 each which will include a visit to Santa in his grotto, a gift, games and storytelling.

Tickets are available from Stems from Sarah, Mikes Bikes and Envy.

Admission is by ticket only.

The grotto is being decorated by volunteer "elves" from the community.

County Councillor Alison Tudor was awarded a grant from Haverfordwest Town Council which has enabled her to set up the grotto.

Each ward in Haverfordwest is able to apply for the grant which must be used to benefit its community.

Cllr Tudor said: “When I applied for the funding I was immediately supported by Town Councillors, Cllr Gill Howell, Cllr Chris Evans and Reverend Marianne Osbourne from St Davids Church Prendergast.

"I felt it was an opportunity to work within the community I represent and organise an event everyone could be involved in."
