A Narberth man asked to be allowed a spliff when police found Class B drugs at his home.
Angelo Edwards, of Garfield Gardens, pleaded guilty to possession of a gram of cannabis when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, December 11,
Prosecutor Abul Hussain said police called at Edwards’ home to conduct a curfew check on October 3 and were let into the property by his mother.
The officers immediately noticed a strong smell of cannabis when they went to Edwards’ bedroom, and saw a small bag of the Class B drug on the floor next to his bed.
The 33 year-old asked officers if he could have drugs for personal use in his own home, stating: “Can I have my weed back so that I can have a spliff?”
His request was declined.
Jonathan Webb, defending, said a very small amount of the Class B drug was found at the property.
Magistrates fined Edwards £80 and ordered him to pay £115 in costs and a surcharge.
A destruction order was made for the seized drugs.
