A LIVING Advent Calendar is shining its festive lights in the village of Penally.

Every day from December 1 until Christmas Eve, a new property will be unveiling its illuminated window.

People are encouraged to buy a map in exchange for a £1 donation to the Paul Sartori Hospice at Home charity and then follow the festive trail around the village.

The windows are being lit up between 5pm and 10pm every night, and all the artistic creators of the seasonal displays have not only had fun with their decorations and illuminations, but have enjoyed admiring the work of their friends and neighbours in the village.

The map and leaflet, showing the dates when each window will be lit, is available from Penally Village Shop, The Cross Inn and The Paddock Inn.

The day of the lighting of the final window in the living calendar will be marked on Christmas Eve with a crib service in Penally Church at 3.30pm.

This will be followed by a walk around the village to see all the windows, and then refreshments in the village hall from 4.30pm to 6pm.

Many of the lights will stay on for Christmas and New Year.
