A weekend in Pembrokeshire cost a woman her licence when she was caught drink-driving to her guesthouse.

Angharad Evans, of Pen y Grug, Ystalyfera, Neath Port Talbot, pleaded guilty to driving while over the legal alcohol limit when she appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, December 11.

Abul Hussain, prosecuting, told the court that concerns about her driving led police to pull over Evans’ Mitsubishi Mirage on Upper Lamphey Road, Pembroke, at 8.45pm on November 24.

Evans, 21, was found to have 55mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit is 35mg.

Mark Layton, defending, said Evans and her partner were in the area for the weekend, and were making their way back to their guest house when she was stopped.

“She had a couple of drinks for the first time in a while.”

Magistrates banned Evans from driving for 15 months and fined her £120. She was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.
