A FORMER Pembroke School student captured the ‘end of an era’ with drone footage of his old school being demolished.

When the new Ysgol Harri Tudor – Henry Tudor school - was opened in September last year, the old Pembroke School, Bush Hill building became disused and had to be demolished.

After getting a new drone for Christmas, Lee Bowles wanted to capture some videos of Pembrokeshire and an area he remembered from his youth.

“I had an upgraded drone for Christmas and planned to make some local videos,” he said.

“This seemed like a good place to start, as well as recording something I could remember.

“I left [the school] in 1997, my brother and sisters, as well as my wife, also went to the school.

“The school has a lot of memories for many local people, it’s the end of an era seeing it taken down.”

Pembroke School, which is often colloquially called Bush School, was founded in 1972 and has seen thousands of students pass through its doors.

Mr Bowles added: I’ll be sad to see it go as it has always been part of the area as far back as I remember.

“Our children will be attending the new school in the future and it wasn't fit for purpose anymore so understand why. Massive shame all the same.”
