A FORMER mayor of Tenby has stepped down from the town council after 32 years service.
Caroline Thomas tendered her resignation "after much deliberation and soul-searching", she told the authority in a letter, adding that she had "thoroughly enjoyed every minute" representing the people of her home town.
Town mayor, Councillor Sue Lane - who joined the council at the same time as Mrs Thomas in 1987 - praised her as "passionate, honest and sensible" and said she had been "a true stalwart to the council and Tenby."
The council has now declared a casual vacancy to fill Mrs Thomas's seat on the Tenby South ward.
