FISHGUARD Ladies Circle's £100 Christmas Gift for 2018 has been donated to Fishguard Sea Cadets.

The ladies raised the money during the town's Light Night celebrations, dancing non-stop for an hour in Christmas outfits.

They then asked local people to nominate a charity to receive a Christmas gift from the Ladies Circle.

On Friday, January 11, members were delighted to present a cheque for £100 to Chris Peake from Fishguard Sea Cadets.

"We were also very honoured to be shown around the Skirmisher building by three Sea Cadets," said circle chairman, Lisa Devonald.

"We were given an insight into the amazing life skills that sea cadets learn and the opportunities they have such as the chance to learn sailing, go camping, develop skills such as knot work, morse code, teamwork and a chance to build self-confidence and so much more.

"The group is a real asset to Fishguard and Goodwick and offers wonderful opportunities for young people."

Lisa thanked the local Fishguard and Goodwick community for supporting the circle's fund-raising events in the past year, which in turn allowed the circle to continue to support local groups, people and organisations on our doorstep.
