Falling out with a former partner led to a three-year driving ban.
Matthew Lee Hobbs, of Keyhan Road, Plymouth, formerly of Neyland, pleaded guilty to driving while over the legal alcohol limit when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, January 15.
The court heard that Hobbs, 30, drove a BMW on Marble Hall Road, Milford Haven, at 8.40am on December 23, and was found to have 59mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit is 35mg.
Anthony O’Connell, defending, said: “This gentleman had not intended to drive that day, but had fallen out with his former partner and got behind the wheel.”
Mr O’Connell added that the loss of his licence was likely to impact on his work as a welding inspector.
Magistrates banned Hobbs, who was convicted of a similar offence in 2009, from driving for three years and fined him £250.
He was ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 surcharge.
