Pushing a police officer on Christmas day cost a Haverfordwest woman £155.

Tiffany Rowlands, of West Court, Haverfordwest, pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker when she appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, January 15.

Prosecutor Sian Vaughan told the court that police were searching a bedroom at Rowlands’ home for an unrelated matter on December 25 when she asked them to leave.

Rowlands, 25, pushed an officer in the chest, but then calmed down and apologised numerous times.

Mark Layton, defending, said there was no record of injury or discomfort suffered by the officer, who had wanted the matter to be dealt with in an alternative way to court.

“She accepts that she did push the officer, but was very apologetic for her actions and immediately recognised that it was wholly inappropriate.”

The court heard that Rowlands was previously of clean character.

Magistrates fined Rowlands £40 and ordered her to pay £85 court costs and a £30 surcharge.

The chairman of the bench said: “We note that the officer did not want to press charges initially.”
