A Haverfordwest woman, who attempted to jump out of a police car, became abusive after feigning unconsciousness at the hospital.

Sian Davies, of Cartlett, pleaded guilty to using threatening, or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress when she appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, February 5.

Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, prosecuting, said Davies, 51, called the police at 9.30pm on January 21 and officers took her to Withybush hospital’s A&E department after she told them she felt suicidal and may harm herself.

“They had to stop on the way because she tried to jump out of the vehicle while it was moving. They had to put her into the caged area in the back.”

While at the hospital Davies feigned unconsciousness, and became abusive when she ‘came round’.

Mr Prichard-Jones said: “She was using the f-word and saying she needed to see a doctor. She was given various warnings to calm down, and there were members of the public in the vicinity as well.”

Davies was arrested for causing a disturbance in the hospital.

Jonathan Webb, defending, said Davies had struggled with alcohol abuse for some time, adding that she apologised for her actions.

Magistrates fined Davies £80 and ordered her to pay court costs and a surcharge totalling £115.

Davies said: “Could I just apologise to the court for my behaviour.”
