AN ocean of knitted sea creatures is looking for a new home after starring in an exhibition at the National Wool Museum in Drefach Felindre.

Sharks, seahorses, sea urchins and even a mermaid were created for the grotto by volunteers to mark Visit Wales’s Year of the Sea last year.

But now the exhibition has been taken down, the cuddly creatures need a new rock pool to play in and are searching for someone to give them a good home.

Ann Whittall, site manager of the National Wool Museum, said: “The sea grotto was loved by visitors last year, thanks to all the volunteers who created it.

“There are around 80 different items, including knitted seaweed, shells and different fish and it would be great if someone like a school wanted to take them.

“We used it to inform people about the dangers of plastic pollution in the sea and it could potentially be used to pass on that message to children.”
