CEREDIGION-based West Wales Holiday Cottages has scooped the award for Excellence in Marketing and Communications at The South Wales Chamber of Commerce Welsh Business Awards 2018.

The awards ceremony, at Cardiff’s City Hall on Thursday, February 22, saw business from across Wales recognised for their innovation, growth and success.

Father and son David and Matthew Witt established West Wales Holiday Cottages in 2005, advertising five cottages – since then, the company has grown organically to advertise more than 800 self-catering holiday cottages across Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire on behalf of independent cottage owners.

Senior partner David said: “We’re proud to have achieved this prestigious award.

“It showcases the hard work our small team puts into marketing West Wales to the rest of the world.

“We’ve won awards in the past, but to have our efforts recognised at the Welsh Business Awards is overwhelming.”

Marketing manager Amy Williams said: “It’s an honour for us to win this award.

“We are tight knit team who work relentlessly hard to make a difference in a competitive market.

“We hope that we can continue to promote West Wales as a desirable holiday destination to the benefit of cottage owners and the local communities.”

West Wales Holiday Cottages was also a finalist in the Community Relations category for the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting the local community through encouraging collaborative working, development of initiatives and ensuring the business operates ethically and transparently.
