Failing to respond to a request for information has cost a car owner £1,346.
Haverfordwest magistrates found John McNulty, of High Street, Batheaston, Bath, guilty after a trial was held in his absence on Wednesday, March 13.
McNulty, 61, previously pleaded not guilty to failing to provide information about the identity of a driver suspected of committing an offence on August 9, but failed to attend last week’s hearing.
A charge of breaking a 30mph limit at Holyland Road, Pembroke on July 4, also denied by McNulty, was withdrawn by the prosecution.
The court heard that no response had been received to requests for information which had been sent to McNulty, who was the registered owner of the Nissan Juke in question.
Magistrates found McNulty guilty and fined him £660. Six penalty points were added to his licence and he was ordered to pay £620 costs, plus a £66 surcharge.
