MILFORD Haven cadets had a triple reason to celebrate during Lord Lieutenant of Dyfed Sara Edwards' recent annual Lord Lieutenant’s Award Ceremony.

Cadet Corporal Max Thompson was presented with his badge of office, as one of the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadets of Dyfed for 2019.

His citation paid close attention to Max’s support for the Royal Marines Cadets, in particular the Milford Haven Unit.

In addition, Petty Officer Cadet Duncan Parry was presented with his certificate of service as the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for 2018 at the event.

This was also history in the making, with Milford Haven Unit having a third consecutive cadet in a row appointed, and also for the second-ever Royal Marines Cadets to be appointed in Dyfed.

Lieutenant (SCC) William Elliott RNR, unit commanding officer, said: “Max is a great example and role model of what being in a cadet force can do for you, and what you can achieve from it.

"It was a pleasure and privilege to be able to witness, along with Max’s family, him being appointed as one of the Lord Lieutenant’s cadets; a very proud moment for him.

"I was delighted, along with Duncan’s family, to see his very successful year come to an end, and celebrate with having another Milford Haven cadet represent the sea cadets at the Lord Lieutenant level."
