A crew member of an Irish Ferries passenger ship has died after an accident at Rosslare Harbour, the Garda has confirmed.
The incident occurred aboard Isle of Inishmore this morning (March 21).
A Garda spokesman said: "Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of a workplace accident at Rosslare Europort, Rosslare Harbour.
"The incident occurred at approximately 7.45am on Thursday, March 21, 2019. A man in his 20s was fatally injured in the incident.
"The coroner has been notified and the body of the man remains at the scene.
"The Health and Safety Authority has been notified."
The 8.45am Rosslare to Pembroke and the 2.45pm Pembroke to Rosslare Ferries have been cancelled "due to a medical emergency on board."
The Isle of Inishmore is expected to sail to Pembroke this evening at 8.45pm.
