Colin John Evans of Owen Street, Pennar, Pembroke Dock, passed away at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest on March 1, 2019, at the age of 69.

Colin trained at Neyland Technical College in motor mechanics, then was employed as a mechanic for Silcox in the car section – as well as driving buses and coaches for 37 years.

He then worked as a relief driver for Pembrokeshire County Council Social Services, followed by working as a firefighter at Mainport Engineering on refinery sites looking after their vehicles.

In his younger days, Colin was a keen member of Pembrokeshire Motor Club as took part in rallying as a driver and co-driver.

He was a member of the unit of the Royal Naval Auxiliary Service in Pembroke Dock and became a Chief Petty Officer Engineer.

After this disbanded, Colin became a member of the Maritime Volunteer Service.

When Colin retired, he volunteered at the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre. He was passionate about military and local history. He was an avid Wales and Scarlets rugby supporter.

The family left to mourn are Heather Evans (wife), Alun and Becky (son and daughter-in-law), David and Aimeé (son and daughter-in-law).

The funeral service will take place on Monday, March 18, at St John’s Church, Pembroke Dock, followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth.

The funeral service was taken by Rev Alex Grace and Canon Bob Capper.

Mr B L Brace

Milton

The funeral recently took place of the late Brinley Llewellyn Brace of Cilleric, Milton, Tenby.

Brinley, who was a native of West Williamston and Milton passed away on February 22, 2019, aged 81 years.

During his working life he served two years National Service and was a heavy plant driver with West Wales Construction and Evan Pritchard.

His interests included gardening, walking and holidays.

He leaves to mourn, Lucille and Will (daughter and son-in-law), Kenric (son), Zoe, Daniel, Rachael, Shawnee, Mark, Kelsey, Erin and Kieran (grandchildren and partners), Dylan, Caden. Eddison, Olivia and Logan (great-grandchildren), Peggy (sister), Audrey and John (sister and brother-in-law), Mansell and Elsie (brother and sister).

The funeral service took place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth, on Friday, March 8, and was conducted by Rev Norman Gilbert.

Bearers were Daniel Roberts, Will Rogers, Mark Evans and John Knox.

Mrs O M Chisnall

Pembroke

Mrs Olive May Chisnall (affectionately known as Babs) of Holyland Lodge Residential Home, Pembroke, died on March 6, 2019, at 96 years old.

A native of Shropshire, Mrs Chisnall was an ex-WAFF cook, catering assistant, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Her main interests were her family and friends, and church.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, the late Thomas (Tom) Chisnall, and her son Rodney.

The mourners were John and Carol Chisnall (son and daughter-in-law), Jill Chisnall (daughter-in-law); Yvonne and Barrie Lewis (daughter and son-in-law), Robin and Mandy Chisnall (son and daughter-in-law); Jayne Moseley (granddaughter) and Andy Moseley; Stuart Chisnall (grandson) and Jo Chisnall; Louie Chisnall (great-grandson); Audrey Woodcock (special friend); Wayne Chisnall (grandson); Tara Hodnett (granddaughter) representing Stewart Hodnett; Joseph and Jack Hodnett (great-grandchildren); Josh and Sam Moseley (great-grandsons) were unable to attend, represented by Jayne and Andy Moseley.

Kate Duckett and Peter Jones (nephew and niece); Rose and Keith Rowland (special family friends); Rosemary and Mick Picken, unable to attend, were represented by Kate Duckett.

Also present were family friends Brian and Olwyn Howells, Maureen, Sue, Graham and Diane; neighbours Adele, Julie, Sean and Margaret; Staff at Holyland Lodge Angie and Moria.

Olive had 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, most were unable to attend.

Family who were unable to attend were represented by Yvonne Lewis. Alicia Chisnall (granddaughter) was represented by John Chisnall.

Philip Whitney (grandson living in Australia) was unable to attend, and was represented by Yvonne Lewis.

The funeral service took place Wednesday, March 20, at SS Faith and Tyfai Church, Lamphey followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth and was taken by Rev Peter Jones.

Mr Keith Rowland read the eulogy at the church.
