ALWAYS wanted to see your work in print? Well this could be your chance.

This year's Penfro Book Festival competitions are now open for entries. There are three categories: poetry, short story and radio drama.

The prizes for the short story and poetry competitions include being professionally published in an anthology, while the radio drama top prize is a recording of your work by professional actors.

The short story judge is Wales Book of the Year winner, Niall Griffiths, while award-winning poet Rhiannon Hooson will be judging the poetry entries. The winning radio drama will be selected by Sony Gold, award-winning radio producer, and director Kate McCall.

The winners will be announced at this year's Penfro Book Festival at Rhosygilwen, north Pembrokeshire, which runs from October 11-13.

"These competitions are an excellent way for writers to hone and develop their work," said festival chair, Sue Lewis. "This is the ninth year of the festival and it is really going from strength to strength."

The festival programme will be announced later this spring but will include the usual winning formula of workshops, talks and events in both English and Welsh.
