CCTV has been installed in St Dogmaels in a bid to crack down on anti-social behaviour and vandalism in the area.
The Crymych Neighbourhood Policing Team has put up the cameras at Alexandra Gardens and is currently investigating criminal damage to a section of fence at the site.
Sometime between the April 4 and April 11, vandals have damaged approximately 15 meters of wooden fencing along the bank at Alexandra Gardens.
The fencing has been pushed over and the planks running horizontally have also been snapped and thrown onto the bank, which would have required a lot of force.
The repair bill is estimated to be around £500.
Police have met with the local community council and as well as the CCTV, officers will be stepping up patrols in the area, particularly throughout the school Easter holidays.
A police spokesman said: “A great community asset is being vandalised and it’s having an effect on the local community who enjoy using the park.
“Since the incident Police have installed CCTV at Alexandra Gardens which will be monitored by officers from Crymych Neighbourhood Policing Team.
“We ask that the local community call 101 if they have any information regarding the damage and urge that they contact police should they see any anti-social behaviour in the village.”
