PEMBROKESHIRE looks set for some stormy weather this weekend, after the Met Office issued a weather warning.

Storm Hannah is set to blow in on Friday night and into Saturday, bringing heavy rain and severe gales of up to 70mph.

A yellow weather warning is in place from 9pm on Friday until 3pm on Saturday. Exposed coastal areas are likely to be worst hit as the storm roars in from Ireland.

A Met Office spokesman said: "Winds of around 65mph to 70mph are expected in coastal areas and inland could see 45mph to 55mph.

“It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities could be affected by spray and/or large waves.”

The Met Office said there could also be delays to road, rail, air and ferry services.

Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are also expected and some short-term loss of power and other services is possible due to falling branches.

Friday will start with rain in the west of Wales, spreading across the country through the morning. In the afternoon the bad weather will briefly make way for brighter skies and some scattered showers, before it turns wet with the very windy weather arriving overnight.

Maximum temperatures on Saturday will be around 11 degrees centigrade.

The stormy weather is a far cry from the sunny Easter weekend which saw record-breaking temperatures.
