All the Welsh candidates for the European Parliament elections

The purpose of the elections is to choose members of the European Parliament who will be sent to represent all of Wales in Brussels (and Strasbourg), either for the next five years or until the UK leaves the European Union via the Brexit process.

In the UK, candidates are chosen in a proportional representation system called the party list, where each party is given a number of seats based upon how many votes they receive.

As a European region, Wales has four seats in the European Parliament.

Eight parties are fielding candidates for the election, which takes place on Thursday, May 23, with the results announced on Sunday, May 26 after a count set to be held at Pembrokeshire County Hall, Haverfordwest.
