UNINSURED drivers and untaxed drivers have caught the attention of Pembrokeshire’s road policing team over the Easter holidays.

On Thursday, April 25, a van making its way through Tenby was stopped by Pembrokeshire’s Road Policing Unit was pulled over and the driver was reported for being uninsured.

The driver was not covered on the van’s insurance, and was only a named driver on another policy.

An automated crime report also showed police the van had left a petrol station in Kilgetty 10 days before without paying for diesel.

The RPU tweetedL “Vehicle stopped in Tenby, driver reported for driving whilst uninsured, not covered on vehicles policy and was only a named driver on another policy. Also dealt with by means of an ACR for making off without paying for diesel from Kilgetty 10 days ago”

A driver who was stopped in Herbrandston on Wednesday, April 24, was found to be driving an untaxed and uninsured car, which also had an expired MOT.

The RPU team tweeted: “Vehicle stop checked this evening in the Herbrandston area. Checks revealed the Insurance policy had been cancelled due to lack of payment. MOT also found to be expired. Tax expired November 2018!”

Also on Wednesday, April 24, the road policing team stopped a man who was driving his partner’s car without insurance near Llanteg.

The RPU team tweeted: “Male reported for driving whilst uninsured on the A477 near Llanteg earlier. Stopped driving his partner’s vehicle, believing his own policy entitled him to drive other vehicles, checks by @DriveInsured showed this not to be the case.”
