A PONTOON has been badly damaged and hundreds of homes left without power after Storm Hannah hit Pembrokeshire overnight.

The pontoon at Hobbs Point, Pembroke Dock was left twisted and broken as winds of up to 79mph were recorded at St Anne's Head.

As at 2.30pm, Western Power said around 270 properties in the Milford Haven and Neyland area were without power following a high voltage incident.

The company hoped to have all customers reconnected by 4.30pm.

In total, 355 homes were without power across Wales.

Dale Coastguard had earlier helped cleared up dinghies blown across the village's roads by the force of the storm and had received reports of a lost catamaran, which had been passed to the Port of Milford Haven.

The Met Office yellow warning for wind is in place until 3pm today.
