Carrying three grams of cannabis cost a Milford Haven man £195.
Cornelius James Harteveldt, of Richard John Road, Milford Haven, pleaded guilty to Class B drug possession when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, May 14.
Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, prosecuting, said officers searched Harteveldt’s rucksack while at a Milford Haven address for an unrelated matter on April 23.
Three grams of cannabis were discovered inside the 25 year-old’s bag.
Mr Pritchard-Jones said: “He was arrested and interviewed. He made a full admission that it was his and was for his own personal use.”
Mike Kelleher, defending, said: “He suffers from ADHD and takes cannabis. He makes sure that he does not smoke in his parents’ house, he goes down a lane.
“It helps him to sleep and to relax, he takes it at night purely for that purpose.”
Magistrates fined Harteveldt £80 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.
A destruction order was made for the seized drugs.
