FITNESS fans can look forward to the official opening of a new gym in Hampshire.

On Saturday, June 29 Anytime Fitness in Totton will be opening its doors to welcome members of the community and any potential gym subscribers.

To celebrate the gyms' new branch visitors will be treated to free food and drink on offer from restaurant chains Subway, Dominoes and Noo Thai.

There will be a DJ and acoustic guitar music as well as activities for people of all ages including a gladiator competition and bouncy castle.

According to gym director, Matt Halsall the event will be an open day for members, non-members and families to go along, see the gym, get involved and speak to staff.

Also attending on the day will be the gym's national charity partner MIND, a charity which offers information and advice to people with mental health problems.

Although the gym opened for business in May, the event on Saturday is its "grand launch" with the club now boasting more than 650 members.

Matt said: "So far we have received really good reviews. I think people like the fact they don't have to go into town to exercise and that the gym is open 24-hours a day."

Located in Salisbury road in the former Countrywide store the gym offers "state-of-the-art" strength training and cardiovascular equipment alongside a functional training zone, spin studio and main class studio.

It also provides certified personal trainers and members can use all other clubs across the country.

Anytime Fitness currently has 160 clubs in the UK and 4,000 worldwide.

In the area the franchise has gyms in The Swan Centre in Eastleigh, Locks Heath Shopping Village in Fareham and they also have gyms in Jewry Street Winchester, Yeoman Road in Ringwood and Stoke Road in Gosport.
