Thousands descended on Bitts park this morning to take part in the annual Race for Life.
Just after 10am supporters converged at the start line and waited for the countdown to begin.
The bell rang and over two thousand women, men and children crossed the start line.
For the first year, men were able to take part in the race to help raise vital funds for cancer research.
As the race started over £100 thousand had been raised.
