HAVE the time of your life this summer as Bolton comedy legend Paddy McGuinness turns his hand to the big screen for a blast of film fun.

The former Phoenix Nights star has teamed up with fellow comedian Keith Lemon to launch the duo’s first live cinema experience — MovieFest.

Four exclusive events will be hosted by the northern funny men, screening classic 80s film Dirty Dancing at two venues this August.

Paddy said: “Keith and I literally cannot wait to take to the stage.

“We are the biggest fans of classic 80’s cinema and are already looking forward to the next cinematic masterpieces we can lovingly pay tribute to. This summer it’s all about having the Time Of Your Life at MovieFest. Let the Dirty see the Dancing.”

In celebration of the decade which brought the world shoulder pads and Spandex, Movie Fest will see Paddy and Keith reimagine themselves as running a video shop where they will draw on their favourite 80s movies.

The MovieFest experiences will take place at Knebworth House, Hertfordshire, on August 16 and 17, and Tatton Park, Cheshire, on August 30 and 31.

At each screening there will also be a special twist, which will see Paddy and Keith return to the stage in a surprise finale and post-screening party.

A number of ticket packages are available including general admission, premium and VIP tickets — which include a customisable luxury reclining chair in a prime spot, fast track queuing for entry and bars, and a back stage meet and greet.

Paddy and Keith’s love for Dirty Dancing is well known after the duo famously recreated the iconic dance scene for Let’s Dance for Comic Relief in 2009.

Keith said: “Really excited about MovieFest. In the past I’ve projected onto a bed sheet in me garden, but this is gonna be a next level. And with me good mate Paddy McGuinness. It’s gonna be a wicked party. And party is my middle name. Well it in’t really, it’s Ian.”

MovieFest has been created in collaboration with The Luna Cinema and Showcase Cinemas. It is the latest outdoor experience by the team who are currently producing FriendsFest, which will visit Heaton Park this summer as it tours the UK.

Mark Barlow, general manager at Showcase Cinemas UK, said: “We’re delighted to be working alongside Keith & Paddy as they launch their exciting new MovieFest concept. They love films just as much as we do and we know it’s going to be a laugh out loud series of events.”
