A NAKED runner who assaulted the police officer who tried to stop him has been made the subject of a community order.
Swansea crown court heard how PC Christine Lewis had been called to Benjamin Smith's home in Feidr Fawr, St Dogmaels on Boxing Day last year.
Smith, aged 34, darted from the flat naked and when the officer caught up with him he pushed her in her face.
Smith admitted assaulting an emergency worker carrying out her duties.
Judge Paul Thomas described it as one of the most bizarre incidents he had come across.
"Your behaviour was bordering on the farcical," he added.
The incident was caught on a body camera worn by PC Lewis.
"The police will be protected by the courts," said Judge Thomas. "I'm concerned about aspects of your mental health."
Smith was made the subject of an 18-month community order and told to complete 20 days of a rehabilitation activity.
