‘IT’S November, it’s raining so it must be Cardigan Fair day.’
The words of fair owner Vernon Studt certainly rang true as the heavens opened, with hail and torrential rain but that did not stop people flocking to the town to enjoy the traditional annual event.
The food stalls in the Guildhall courtyard proved popular, as did the local craft stalls.
“We are proud to come to Cardigan every year,” said Mr Studt, who has been running the fair for 40 years.
“The fair has now been going for more than 180 years and we hope it will continue for many years to come.”
Local organisations and groups were treated to a special evening of entertainment at the fair on Friday evening. Last year’s Friday evening event had to be cancelled due to driving rain and gale-force winds.
