MILFORD Haven Sea Cadets picked up three awards at their annual conference recently.

At the South West Area Conference, Milford Haven was named runner up in the Stephenson Trophy.

This award goes to the best Unit in the South West Area and goes on to the National Award for the Best Unit in the UK. This places Milford Haven in the top 2 Units in the Area and top 12 Units in the UK.

Milford was also nominated for the SRMO Trophy. This award is to the most improved Royal Marines Cadet Detachment and again goes on to the National Awards.

The Roddie Casement Sword Nomination went to Lieutenant (SCC) William Elliott RNR, who in the opinion of the Area Officer, is the Best Commanding Officer in South West Area. His nomination puts him up against 5 other nominations for the National Award.

Lieutenant (SCC) William Elliott RNR, the Commanding Officer said: “I am rightfully extremely proud of the Unit and Royal Marines Cadet Detachment.

“We have worked extremely hard over the years and to have it recognised for the determination and improvement here at TS Harrier is just amazing.

“For my nomination, I am very honoured, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my amazing team of adult volunteers, committee members and parent’s committee, in addition to simply the best group of cadets. Fingers crossed for the national awards, due to be released in the next 2 weeks”.
