CARDIGAN Town council has expressed frustration at what they feel is often a lack of input into the planning process, which is the remit of Ceredigion County Council.
The matter was raised following a receipt of a letter from a member of the public supporting Gleblelands Market Garden’s on-going planning dispute with the county council, an issue which has attracted a great deal of public comment.
Cllr Catrin Miles, the district councillor for the Teifi ward, said: “The polytunnel has been put up. The matter that Ceredigion County Council is dealing with is the conditions linked to that polytunnel.
“It is very complicated but hopefully there will be a compromise.”
But on wider planning issues, Cardigan mayor Cllr Shan Williams said: “I think it is important that the town council is told what is going on. I am starting to think that at times there is no point in us making recommendations as no-one listens to us.
“People in Cardigan think we have a strong voice but truth be told, we have not got a voice at all.”
Cllr Richard Jones said the town council often got reports into planning matters but that seemed not to happen nowadays – something that should be corrected.
