CARDIGAN Police are reinforcing the message that non-essential travel is banned under continuing coronavirus lockdown rules.
It comes as the number of people out and about and visiting the beach is on the rise.
A statement on the Cardigan Neighbourhood Policing Team’s Twitter feed said: “There has been an increase in people travelling to the local beaches lately. A reminder that we are still in lockdown and we patrol these areas daily.
“In Wales, driving to the coast to exercise is not considered a reasonable excuse to leave home. To reduce the risk of spread of coronavirus exercise must be done within an area local to home. The advice is that exercise should start and finish from home.”
A Bradford couple who travelled to Mwnt beach earlier this week were fined and sent home.
