FIREFIGHTERS have now left the scene of this morning's blaze at Park Road Fish and Chip Shop, Tenby.

Several fire appliances from three fire stations attended the incident, which resulted in the closure to traffic of South Parade and Park Road.

Traffic diversions were in place and long queues built up on the approach roads to the resort.

Police advised motorists to steer clear of the area.

A Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "At 11:06am on 15 June 2021, we received a call reporting a fire at a commercial premises on Upper Park Road, Tenby.

"Crews from Narberth, Pembroke Dock and Tenby Fire Stations were mobilised to the incident.

"Upon attendance, crews dealt with a well developed fire on the ground floor of a commercial chip shop.

"Four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets (one using foam), one main jet and thermal imaging cameras were used to tackle the fire.

"All persons at the property were accounted for.

"The fire was extinguished at approximately 12:00 hours. Crews remained on scene for some time to continue to dampen down before eventually leaving at approximately 14:00."!
