WREXHAM Council has published a handy list of public toilets in the town centre.

The authority said that people in Wrexham town centre during the day who need to use a public convenience can use council-owned facilities wherever you are.

It follows the issue of a lack of public toilet facilities in the town being raised by Wrexham's MP Sarah Atherton.

She said: "Of late, the issues I have been focusing on in relation to Wrexham’s town centre may well have seemed overriding negative, whether that be issues with parking, a lack of public toilet facilities in town or the number of vacant premises in our town centre."

This is where you can go when you have to go:

  • Henblas Street Toilets

Cllr Terry Evans, Lead Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said, “It’s important that town centre toilet facilities are available to all town visitors especially for those who have young families, the elderly and the disabled.”

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said, “As the town centre gets busier so will our transport links that lead to it so having facilities open in the bus station is essential to support this.”

She said: "Having met with traders and businesses last week, it is clear that there are still concerns about some of the Council’s town centre facilities, including the toilets on Town Hill.

Recently, Ms Atherton has said a lack of facilities for those caught short was deterring people from going into town and even leading to cases of public urination.

She said: "I have, once again, raised these concerns with the Council and I will continue to work with them – and other key authorities across the town centre – to make sure the frustrations of traders and businesses are heard.

"As I have said before, it is important the Council and other stakeholders work with town centre traders and listen to these issues to make our high street as welcoming and inviting as possible for all."
