A tortoise from Pembroke Dock has gone missing, and has not been seen by his owner, who is very concerned for his safety, for several weeks.

Hercules the tortoise went missing over two months ago from a garden near Pembroke Hire Centre.

His owner has spoken to neighbours, gone out each day looking, and posters have been put up, but 26-year-old Hercules is yet to be found.

Whilst tortoises are renowned for being slow movers, a friend of Hercules' owner says he has 'a fair turn of speed when his dander is up.'

Hercules' owner is worried as he may hibernate shortly in a flower bed or bush in an unfamiliar area, and may get attacked by a predator.

It is believed he escaped from his garden to go in search of a mate.
